Program Description

This program prepares students to fulfill the role of technical specialist in the thriving fields of microcomputer support, local area network administration, and Internet management. In each of the four semesters in this program, students will find themselves in "hands-on" courses such as applied Internet technology, system diagnostics, local area network installation and maintenance, and user support. The theoretical study encompasses operating system fundamentals, data communications, and exposure to application development. Due to the dynamic nature of the industry and the rapid advancement of computer technology, it is the goal of this program to inspire the students with the importance of independent learning and to provide them with the necessary self-help tools and skills to do so. It aims to prepare the students for a career-long journey of self-learning and professional development. The courses in the program are delivered in dedicated labs using exclusively assigned servers and equipment. These practical subjects include microcomputer hardware, Unix/Linux administration, network installation, operating systems, internet work connectivity and Internet/WEB page design. |
