Program Description

The Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Diploma program includes a business and entrepreneurial focus. The program provides a balanced business curriculum reflecting the fast-growing financial, sales and marketing opportunities in the industry. One of the unique features of the program is the self-directed traineeship process. Each student will be required to complete one 8-week block traineeship. The student may choose to sample all three industries or may choose to specialize in one area (i.e. Hotel Management, Special Events).

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities will be available in public community recreation agencies such as city and county recreation and parks departments, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, hotels, travel agencies and commercial enterprises. Employment opportunities may also be better for those who specialize in tourism and commercial recreation.
