Program Description
|
The Hospitality, Recreation
and Tourism Diploma program includes a business and entrepreneurial
focus. The program provides a balanced business curriculum reflecting
the fast-growing financial, sales and marketing opportunities
in the industry. One of the unique features of the program is
the self-directed traineeship process. Each student will be required
to complete one 8-week block traineeship. The student may choose
to sample all three industries or may choose to specialize in
one area (i.e. Hotel Management, Special Events). |

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities will
be available in public community recreation agencies such as city
and county recreation and parks departments, hospitals, rehabilitation
centers, long-term care facilities, hotels, travel agencies and
commercial enterprises. Employment opportunities may also be better
for those who specialize in tourism and commercial recreation. |
