Program Description

This program is intended to
develop and foster advanced creative and artistic ability in a
variety of studio areas. It helps students achieve their individual
goals and objectives as artists within a variety of traditional
and non-traditional media. As well as a strong focus on studios,
the program will provide the important practical information on
the business and professional practices necessary to successfully
operate within the various professions of fine arts. |

Career Opportunities

Graduates can find employment
in advertising, commercial and industrial design, purchasing and
sales, teaching, and recreation. There are, of course, eminently
successful painters, sculptors, printmakers, recreational teachers,
gallery curators and dealers. |

Employment Prospects -
Over the next five years: Good
|
Employment for this occupation
is expected to grow more rapidly then the average for all occupations
through the year 2005. A fine art education has inherent value
for its own sake. In addition, a survey of the careers pursued
by the graduates of Canadian art schools would give some idea
of the practical values of such an education. |
